Earlier this month, Google took everyone by surprise by a major shake and a new parent holdings company called Alphabet. This has led to a major restructuring at the company with Larry Page now as CEO and Sergey Brin as President of Alphabet. Sundar Pichai is now the CEO of Google.

With the new changes, realms were written about why the change and how it will affect Google. But what impact do these changes have on Google employees? Well, the employees at Google are very much used to frequent changes. In fact, there is an internal joke within the company that says ‘if you are moving your desk every six months then something is very wrong with the company’, citing an ex-employee, a BusinessInsider report states.

The report adds that ‘mostly’ the employees accept the changes warmly as it is a part of the company’s growth. However, it also has a ‘darker’ side. The frequent management changes or ‘reorgs’ are also enforced as a part of internal politics. Sometimes the reorganisation is simply for the sake of some change, the report adds.

Some ex-employees also told the news site how they underwent multiple reorgs in a very short span of time – as much as six in a span of two years.
