Facebook introduces live video streaming and collages
Facebook’s new update now lets you share live videos and collages. A few days ago Facebook began to test the ability to share live videos on facebook, starting with a small percentage of people in USA on iPhones. The update will let your friends and connections see what you see in real time.
To share a live video, users simply need to update their status, then select the Live Video icon. It is also possible to write a quick description and choose the audience that you want to share your stream with before going live.
During your broadcast, you’ll see the number of live viewers, names of friends tuning in, and a real-time stream of comments. The video will automatically be saved to your timeline once your broadcast ends. You can then choose to delete the video or leave it as is.
Live videos of your friends and people you follow will show up in your news feed as well. While watching a live video you can tap the subscribe button if you would like to get a notification the next time the broadcaster goes live.
The next new update is the collage feature. Using this, users can now group photos along with videos into a tiled collage. Tapping the Photos section of the Facebook app will reveal recent moments from your camera roll organized into collages based on when and where they were taken. You also have the ability to add, remove and or rearrange photos and videos that you want to include into your collage.
Colleges and live video have been released only on iPhone for now, and is expected to be available on Android early new year.
