The chief product officer of e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal, Anand Chandrasekaran, has quit the company to start his own entrepreneurial venture.

Chandrasekaran was brought on board in June last year to revamp the company’s platform, especially mobile.

“Anand has done some stellar work on the product side at Snapdeal. His insights and attention to detail have helped us traverse quickly towards launching and improving products at Snapdeal,” a Snapdeal spokesperson said.

Chandrasekaran co-founded Aeroprise, a personalised mobile applications software company, which was acquired by BMC Software Inc. in 2011.

Prior to becoming chief product officer at Snapdeal, Chandrasekaran held the same designation at Bharti Airtel. He has also served as senior director, search products, at Yahoo Inc.
