Apple has announced that it’s replacing the rear iSight cameras on some iPhone 6 Plus handsets to rectify a manufacturing defect, and they’re doing it free of charge.

Apparently, some of their iPhone 6 Plus units sold between September 2014 and January this year could have a manufacturing defect that causes an internal component to fail and photos to come out blurry. So if you own that particular model, have blurry photos, and fall within the serial number range Apple has specified, you’re eligible for a free hardware swap on the rear camera. You can find the Apple support page here, which will let you key in your serial number to see if you’re eligible, and find your nearest authorized Apple service provider, retail store or technical support desk.

Apple has suggested that you back u pyour data to the iTunes or the iCloud before you send it in for repair. They’ve also specified that a cracked screen or any other damaged part that “impairs the replacement of the camera component” will have to be fixed before they can change the iSight camera.
